Embrace the enduring excitement of Blackjack, one of the casino’s most beloved table games. Shuffle the deck and discover where smart strategy meets heart-pounding anticipation, all in pursuit of the perfect 21. At Downstream Casino Resort, players can enjoy multiple variations of this classic casino card game along with popular side bets like TriLux and Bet the Set. Which version will you play?
In Blackjack, your goal is simple: finish with a hand value higher than the dealer’s without going over 21. Every wager you place is a direct challenge against the dealer’s hand.
Play begins when the dealer deals two face-up cards to each player. The dealer then receives one card face up and one card face down, with the face-down card tucked beneath the first.
Number cards count for their respective numerical values, face cards (Kings, Queens, and Jacks) count as 10, and Aces are playable as either 1 or 11, whichever benefits your hand most.
Once the cards are dealt, players decide how to proceed. Using hand signals, players can choose to hit (tap the table to receive another card) or stand (wave a flat hand to keep their current total).
Beyond hitting and standing, players can also double down, split pairs, or take insurance.
Doubling down allows you to increase your bet by an amount equal to your original wager on any two-card hand other than 21. Once you set hte bet, the dealer will deal only one additional card.
If your first two cards are a pair, you can split them into two separate hands by placing an additional bet equal to your original wager. If another pair appears, you can split again — up to three times total — resulting in as many as four hands.
When splitting Aces, each Ace receives only one additional card. If a 10-value card follows a split Ace, it counts as 21 but is not considered a Blackjack.
After all players have completed their actions, the dealer reveals the face-down card. The dealer must draw another card on any total of soft 17 or less and stand on hard 17 or higher. If the dealer exceeds 21, all remaining player hands with totals of 21 or less win automatically.
If the dealer’s total is 21 or below, the dealer pays out all player hands that beat the dealer and collects wagers from hands with lower totals. When a player and dealer have matching totals, the hand results in a push, and the wager is returned.
This exciting variation adds a fresh twist by using just two decks of cards. Fewer decks mean strategy and sharper odds, making Double Deck Blackjack a favorite for players who enjoy a more calculated approach to the game.
Double Deck Blackjack follows familiar rules, with the objective of finishing closer to 21 than the dealer without busting. Numbered cards are worth their face value, face cards count as 10, and Aces may be counted as 1 or 11.
A Blackjack occurs when your first two cards are an Ace and a 10-value card, paying 3 to 2.
Once all players have locked in their bets, the dealer deals two cards to each player and to themselves. One of the dealer’s cards remains face down.
Rather than using hand signals, players interact directly with their cards — swiping to take another card or tucking them under to stand. After each new card, players choose whether to continue or hold.
The dealer stands on hard 17. Players may double down on any two cards, including a Blackjack. If your hand beats the dealer’s — or the dealer busts — you win even money. Matching totals result in a push.
Players may also double down, split pairs, or take insurance in this version of the game.
You may double down on any two cards (except a total of 21) by matching your initial wager. Only one additional card will be dealt.
If your first two cards form a pair, you can split them into two hands by placing an equal additional bet. You may re-split pairs up to three times, creating a maximum of four hands. Aces can only split once in Double Deck Blackjack, with one additional card dealt to each Ace.
